Il Set 7208 La Stazione dei Pompieri è un classico set della LEGO, così come la Stazione della Polizia 7498, è presente da un paio di decenni nel catalogo LEGO e viene rinnovata ogni tre quattro anni. In questo caso il set 7208 è stato presentato nel 2010 e rappresenta un must per coloro che collezionano la serie CITY.
Va notato che ultimamente la politica LEGO CITY sembra più orientata verso la sottoserie Polizia piuttosto che i Pompieri, ed infatti sul sito LEGO tutti i video relativi alla LEGO CITY hanno come tema principale la Polizia ed i Ladri, mentre i Pompieri purtroppo si limitano a delle comparse. A mio giudizio, questa lacuna andrebbe colmata perchè, per esperienza personale, i video rappresentano dei notevoli spunti per inventarsi delle storie con cui giocare oltre che pesare notevolmente nella scelta dell'acquisto.
Il set è composto da:
Il set viene venduto in una scatola grande, con dentro otto buste contenenti brick, due baseplate 16x16, un baseplate 8x16, una rete 8x12 e quattro libretti istruzione per costruire rispettivamente l'auto, il camion, i garage e gli uffici dei pompieri.
Volendo seguire lo schema proposto da LEGO, si parte con l'assemblaggio della vettura dei pompieri 01, questa non richiede particolare sforzo e si assembla senza problemi. Il risultato è un furgone senza porte apribili in cui la minifig va inserita staccando il tetto; su retro vi è un vano porta attrezzi abbastanza grande, e sul lato destro e sinistro altri due piccoli vani.
Si passa poi all'assemblaggio della vettura dei pompieri 02, in questo caso si tratta di un grande camion dei pompieri con scala retrattile per il salvataggio delle persone. Il furgone appare ben progettato, presenta sulla parte anteriore un parabrezza che si sviluppa su tre lati (anteriore, destro e sinistro) lasciando una ampia visuale della zona guida; inoltre al suo interno trovano posto, con due appositi sedili, due minifig poste in fila che possono entrare ed uscire dallo stesso attraverso il tetto incernierato (soluzione molto più elegante rispetto al semplice stacca e attacca del tetto presente nell'auto 01). Nella zona posteriore del camion c'è il meccanismo che assicura in movimento della scala, questo è ruotante di quasi 360 gradi, sollevabile, ed allungabile in modo da consentire un buon raggio di azione; è realizzato con varie soluzioni Technic tra cui anche i pistoni, il che gli conferisce una sensazione di solidità non solo visiva ma anche tattile quando lo si maneggia; inoltre, il meccanismo di aggancio della scala al plate è molto più solido e resistente rispetto a quello utilizzato nel set 7239.
Completate le due autovetture, si passa all'assemblaggio della caserma, partendo dai Garage 01 e 02, in questo caso va notato come gli stessi abbiano una struttura molto essenziale, ovvero presentano molte parti aperte (specialmodo lateralmente) ma siano anche ben rifiniti, ad esempio le serrande dei garage sono quasi per intero trasparenti, e sul tetto di ogni garage vi è un lucernario abbastanza grande realizzato attraverso l'utilizzo di due parabrezza piatti accostati (molto bello da vedere). Altra cosa che ho molto apprezzato è la differente lunghezza dei garage dovuta alla differente lunghezza del camion dei pompieri rispetto al furgoncino, cosa da non sottovalutare, visto che nel caso della caserma della polizia 7498 entrambi i garage hanno la stessa lunghezza e di conseguenza l'auto più lunga non riesce a stare per intero dentro.
I due garage vengono assemblati separatamente su due baseplate 16x16 e poi uniti per mezzo di pin technic, inoltre dall'unione si ottiene anche un locale posto al centro con porta di accesso frontale e vetrata che serve come magazzino e spogliatoio per i pompieri.
Si prosegue poi con la costruzione della palazzina dei pompieri partendo dal piano terra poggiato sul plate 8x16 dove troviamo un ufficio con porta di accesso frontale completamente trasparente, una postazione PC realizzata con flat tile ed una macchinetta del caffè entrambi molto ben realizzati ed accurati.
Al primo piano invece c'è l'appartamento dei pompieri, con dentro due letti a castello ed una tv lcd posta davanti ad una sedia girevole; inoltre, c'è una porta trasparente che consente l'accesso al tetto ed al classico palo di discesa dei pompieri che, in caso di emergenza, conduce velocemente al piano terra.
Da segnalare in positivo il grande utilizzo di plate trasparenti per la palazzina, che gli conferiscono un gradevole aspetto brillante, anche se avrei gradito che la stessa si sviluppasse su tre piani in modo da fornire un impatto visivo ancora più imponente; inoltre, in questo caso, come per la Stazione della Polizia 7498, avrei preferito trovare una struttura di scale per il collegamento tra i due piani della palazzina dei Pompieri.
Finita la palazzina, questa va unita ai garage per mezzo di pin technic restituendo la Stazione dei Pompieri completa; da uno sguardo complessivo, credo che qualcosa in più andava fatto in termini di giocabilità del set, ad esempio mi sarebbe piaciuto vedere il palo di discesa dei Pompieri più centrato nella struttura della palazzina creando in questa il tipico buco circolare nel quale far scivolare i Pompieri sul palo attraverso i piani.
Concludo con una nota di colore, segnalando la possibilità di ricreare una tipica ambientazione di soccorso dei Pompieri con la dotazione del set; infatti, sfruttando il gatto bianco, l'albero e la scaletta si può inscenare il salvataggio da parte dei pompieri del gatto salito sull'albero che non riesce più a scendere.

Conclusioni:
Si tratta di un set molto bello che non può mancare nella collezione LEGO di piccoli ed AFOL. Presenta qualche leggerezza nella realizzazione della palazzina dei pompieri che poteva essere più imponente, ma nello stesso tempo il camion dei pompieri a corredo risulta veramente ben fatto e degno di esser venduto anche separatamente.

The set consists of:
Wanting to follow the pattern proposed by LEGO, we start with the assembly of the car of 01 firefighters, this requires no special effort and assembles easily. The result is a truck with no doors that when the minifig must be entered has to be opened by pulling the roof, on the back there is a big gear compartment, and on the right and left side two other small compartments.
Then we assemble the car 02 of firefighters, in this case it's a big fire truck with a retractable ladder to rescue the people. Another thing I appreciate is the different length of the garage due to the different length of the fire truck, it should not be underestimated, since in the case of the police station garage 7498 both have the same length and consequently the cars can not stay long in its entirety.
The two garages are assembled separately and then joined two 16x16 baseplate by means of pins technic also gives a union local at the center with access door and front window that serves as a storage and dressing room for the fire brigade.
We then proceed with the construction of the building of fire starting from 8x16 plate resting on the ground floor where we find an office with front access door is completely transparent, a PC workstation built with flat tile and a coffee machine both very well made and accurate.
On the first floor there is the apartment of fire, containing two bunk beds and an LCD TV placed in front of a swivel chair, in addition, there is a transparent door that allows access to the roof and the classical pole descent of the firefighters, emergency, leads quickly to the ground floor.
On a positive note the great use of transparent plate for the building, giving it a nice shiny appearance, although I would have liked to see the same spread over three floors to provide a visual impact even more impressive, also in this case as for the Police Station of 7498, I would have preferred to find a structure for connecting stairs between two floors of the building of Firefighters.
After the building, this unit has to be united with the garage by means of pins technic returning the complete fire station, from an overall look, I think that something more must be done in terms of playability of the set, for example, I would have liked to see the pole down firefighters more centered in the structure of the building making this a typical circular hole in which to slide the pole through the Fire Department plans.
I conclude with a note of color, indicating the possibility of recreating a typical setting for the rescue of firefighters with the equipment set, in fact using, the white cat, the tree and the ladder can stage the rescue by firefighters climbed the cat tree that can no longer get.

- Assenza di fumetti nel set o video sul sito LEGO relativi ai pompieri che creino spunti per il gioco
