Comincio il nuovo anno con la recensione del set che viene presentato in un documentario andato in onda su DiscoveryChannel relativo alla fabbrica LEGO, come il gioco più venduto al mondo, ovvero il set 7498: Stazione della Polizia.
Ogni tre anni la LEGO rinnova questo set della serie CITY per aggiornarla con le ultime tendenze della serie, e quella presentata in questa recensione è uscita nel 2011; il set è rivolto ad appassionati di almeno sei anni di età, viene venduto in una scatola molto grande, forse la più grande se si escludono quelle utilizzate per serie speciali ed esclusive rivolte agli AFOL ed è composto da:
Presenta al suo interno nove buste contenenti brick, un baseplate 32x32, un baseplate 16x32, quattro libretti istruzioni per realizzare rispettivamente, le due auto della polizia, la prigione/garage, e gli uffici.
La recente politica pubblicitaria della LEGO è molto incentrata sulla sottoserie POLIZIA (basta dare uno sguardo al sito ufficiale della LEGO) ed offre con questo set notevoli spunti per inventarsi storie basate sul classico GUARDIE e LADRI.
La Stazione della Polizia rappresenta da sempre un must che non può mancare nelle collezioni CITY sia dei più piccoli che per degli AFOL; per quest'anno tra l'altro, è stata dotata di due celle con nascondiglio e passaggio segreto per i Ladri, e di uno splendido cane polizziotto con tanto di cuccia dedicata. Inultile dire che trattandosi di un set con 783 pezzi, pur non richiedendo particoli abilità per il momntaggio, bisogna comunque preventivare di dedicarle almeno tre/quattro ore per il suo montaggio.
Volendo seguire lo schema previsto da LEGO, si parte con il montaggio della machina della polizia 01, che rappresenta la classica 'volante' della Polizia; l'assemblaggio procede senza particolari problemi e restituisce una macchina realizzata con una larghezza di quattro stud, ruote che un pò fuoriescono dal corpo vettura e con solo due stud non coperti da flat tile.
Si passa poi all'assemblaggio della macchina della polizia 02 larga anche essa quattro stud, e rappresentante un furgoncino della polizia con una porta posteriore che serve sia per il trasporto di un ladro (che a dire il vero risulta un pò stretto e deve stare disteso), che di un cane polizziotto. In questo caso, per l'auto 02 avrei gradito una larghezza pari a sei stud in modo da ottenere un vano più capiente che avrebbe consentito di sistemare meglio il passeggero. L'assemblaggio dell'auto procede senza particolari problemi e restituisce un furgoncino con la parte anteriore praticamente identica alla 01 ma più alto.
Completate le auto, si passa all'assemblaggio della stazione vera e propria; si comincia dai garage che conterranno le vetture 01 e 02; in questo caso si utilizza il baseplate 32x32 che presenta due piccole strade che conducono ai garage, i quali presentano sulla parte anteriore una serranda per chiudere gli stessi, realizzata per una buona parte in plex trasparente che consente di intravedere cosa c'è all'interno. In questo caso, va segnalato che il garage per la vettura 02 è troppo corto, infatti la stessa non riesce a stare completamente dentro, e quando la serranda è chiusa, la parte posteriore fuoriesce dal garage; a mio giudizio, la profondità dello stesso andrebbe aumentata di almeno due se non quattro stud.
Accanto ai garages è ricavato il locale che funge da cuccia per lo splendido cane polizziotto con ingresso sul retro della caserma e ciotola con osso.
Sulla parte superiore del garage trovano posto le due celle per i ladri alle quali vi si accede per mezzo di una scala posta sul lato sx della struttura dei garage. Le celle sono accoumate dalla stessa struttura realizzata in modo speculare, vi è un meccanismo comune che consente l'aperura delle porte a scorrimento, inoltre all'interno di ciascuna di esse vi è il letto con il nascondiglio segreto del "piede di porco" per evadere, ed un bagno/gabinetto che nasconde l'uscita segreta per consentire l'evasione.
Trovo queste celle molto ben fatte e curate, e fatico a trovarne difetti, se non quello di condividere il meccanismo di apertura delle porte, che però sembra essere una scelta progettuale per richiamare le celle di detenzione vecchio stile da carcere duro. Per quel concerne l'assemblaggio di questa parte, non credo che ci siano particolari difficoltà, e credo vada segnalato solo l'ampio uso di plate verticali per realizzare le pareti perimetrali ottenendo in questo modo due vantaggi per LEGO: il primo è una maggiore semplicità d'assemblaggio, ed il secondo, un minor uso di brick; in particolare credo che questa scelta faccia strorcere il naso a molti AFOL, ma si sa che questi set rappresentano comunque un compromesso tra prezzo e fascia di utenza non troppo elevata.
Per quel che riguarda le minifig, le due dei ladri sono veramente belle da vedere (anche se andrebbero maggiormente differenziate tra loro) e da sole lasciano spazio all'immaginazione di mille ambientazioni sul classico GUARDIE e LADRI, sposando alla perfezione l'ambientazione del carcere duro; inoltre, è anche molto interessante la minifig della polizziotta che rappresenta una nota di colore in un mondo che solitamente LEGO aveva riservato a personaggi maschili.
Finite celle e garages, si passa alla costruzione degli uffici suddivisi su tre piani che vengono poggiati sul baseplate 16x32; in questo caso a piano terra troviamo l'ingresso per la stanza del cane polizziotto, con tanto di ciotola ed osso, e l'ufficio della centrale operativa dove c'è un'ampio schermo per tenere sotto controllo tutte le telecamere con una poltrona girevole per osservare il tutto.
Al primo piano trova posto l'ufficio per le foto segnaletiche con tanto di fotocamera fissa e flash, ed una postazione computer molto compatta; al secondo piano troviamo una macchina del caffè con vicino un boccione dell'acqua, entrambi molto ben fatti ed una scrivania con sopra un diamante e banconote (a mimare un possibile sequestro effettuato ai ladri); e per concludere sul tetto degli uffici è stato sistemato un eliporto, semplice e ben riuscito.
Anche per la struttura degli uffici, va segnalato l'ampio utilizzo di plate verticali per realizzare le mura perimetrali; inoltre, una volta completato l'assemblaggio della struttura, da uno sguardo d'insieme appare evidente la mancanza di una scala di collegamento tra i vari piani degli uffici (in particolar modo, secondo piano e tetto risultano isolati), scale, che invece sono state previste per le celle che si trovano sopra i garages.
Completati gli uffici, questi vanno uniti al complesso dei garages / celle per mezzo di pin tecnic che si vanno ad incastrare nei brick tecnic appositamente inseriti ai lati delle due strutture; inoltre, la compattezza della struttura viene garantita anche da dei flat tile 4x2 e tile 2x2 grigi che uniscono i due baseplate.
Completano il set una bicicletta bianca (che da molto tempo non appariva in questo colore in alcun set LEGO) un cespuglio, due cartelli POLICE ed un palo della luce il tutto poggiati su baseplate.

Conclusioni:
Si tratta di un set molto bello che non può mancare nella collezione di piccoli ed AFOL. Presenta molti spunti per inventarsi delle strorie con cui trascorrere ore giocando. Non è esente da qualche problema come ad esempio la lunghezza del garage 02 o la larghezza dell'auto 02, ma nel complessivo è un set altamente consigliato!

As far regarding the minifig, the two robber are really nice to see (even if more should be differentiated from each other) and only leave to the imagination than a thousand locations on the classic Cops and Robbers , marrying perfectly the atmosphere of the prison at hard labor; Moreover, it is also very interesting minifigs of cop that represents a note of color in a world that usually LEGO had reserved for male characters.

- Garage 02 corto, non riesce e a contenere completamente l'auto 02
- L'auto 02 poteva essere larga sei stud in modo da contenere meglio un ladro o il cane.
- Eccessivo utilizzo di plate verticali alti 5
- Mancanza di una scala di collegamento nella struttura degli uffici
- Eccessivo utilizzo di adesivi
Conclusioni:
Si tratta di un set molto bello che non può mancare nella collezione di piccoli ed AFOL. Presenta molti spunti per inventarsi delle strorie con cui trascorrere ore giocando. Non è esente da qualche problema come ad esempio la lunghezza del garage 02 o la larghezza dell'auto 02, ma nel complessivo è un set altamente consigliato!

Complete the set a white bicycle (which for a long time did not appear in this color in any LEGO set) a bush, two signs POLICE and a light pole resting on the whole baseplate.
At the end of the assembly I believe that could be considered:
PRO
- Set very beautiful, very playable, and both large and small
- Set that has three different environment: Garages, Cells and Offices very well joined together
- Police Dog
- Secret exit from the cells fo the escape
- Minifig: female cop and robbers
- Accessories offices very well made
- Garage 02 short, and can not fully contain the 02 car
- The car 02 could be large six stud in order to better contain a robber ofìr the police dog
- Excessive use of high vertical plate 5
- Lack of a staircase leading to offices in the structure of
- Excessive use of adhesives
Conclusions :
This is a set of very nice that you can not miss the collection of small and AFOL . Has many ideas to invent story with whom to spend hours playing. Is not without some problems such as the length of the garage 02 or the width of the car 02, but overall it is a set highly recommended !
